Uniform Information

  • Uniform Information

It is our policy that all children should wear school uniform when attending school. Our school uniform is:

  • Green jumper, hoodie or cardigan
  • Grey / black trousers, shorts or skirt
  • Plain white polo shirt
  •

Our policy is based on the notion that a school uniform:

  • promotes a sense of pride in the school;
  • engenders a feeling of community and belonging;
  • is practical and smart;
  • identifies the children with the school;
  • is not distracting in class (as fashion clothes might be);
  • makes children feel equal to their peers in terms of appearance;

Jewellery

On health and safety grounds, we do not allow children to wear jewellery in our school. The exceptions to this rule are ear-ring studs in pierced ears, and small objects of religious significance, such as a crucifix on a chain. We ask the children either to remove these objects during PE and games, or to cover them with a plaster.

Footwear

The school wants all children to grow into healthy adults. We believe that it is dangerous for children to wear shoes with platform soles or high heels in school, so we do not allow this. Whilst trainers are permitted, we ask that they are black or a dark colour.

P.E Kit

P.E kit is required from Year 1 (Dosbarth Caradog). School P.E kit is a plain white t-shirt and plain black shorts / leggings. Depending upon the activity trainers are required.

The role of parents

Parents should ensure that their child has the correct uniform, and that it is clean and in good repair.

We know that school uniform and other such items can be a financial burden. The cost of living is on the increase and is due to intensify with energy costs rising. We know the Uniform Swap in July was welcomed and we will make more uniform available during other events throughout the year. We also had a uniform stand in reception where you can donate and pick up uniform throughout the year. All we ask is for a small donation.

We do not expect the school jumpers/cardigans/hoodies to have a logo, as we know that this can increase the cost.

Trustmark in Talbot Green currently sell our school uniform. If you have any concerns about purchasing school uniform please contact the school.
