Events and human experiences
We make sense of the world through all of the events and experiences we encounter. Humanities in Tonysguboriau encourages learners to evaluate the ways these events and experiences are observed and understood. Our learners develop self-awareness as they form their own, personal viewpoints, based on what they know, and recognise those of others.
Learning how different worldviews and other factors can influence their own and others’ understanding and interpretations will inspire our pupils to recognise how different contexts will influence the way narratives and representations are constructed.
By exploring how and why interpretations may differ, and understanding that representations come from a variety of evidence, pupils will be more able to evaluate how reliable these representations are.
This aspect of Humanities will encourage the exploration of concepts, including seeking meaning, making judgements, ultimate and philosophical questions, representations, perspectives, interpretations, significance and validity.
