Summer Term 2025-2026
This week, we have continued to develop our understanding of persuasive writing. The children have explored different persuasive techniques by analysing strong examples, while also learning how to write in the first person and use emotive and powerful vocabulary to support their arguments.
In Maths, we have moved on to learning about angles. We have been identifying and recognising right angles, as well as acute and obtuse angles. We also explored vertical and horizontal lines, including spotting them in everyday objects around us.
In our topic work, we began the “Scrumdidlyumptious” part of our summer topic. We started by learning about the importance of fruit and vegetables in maintaining a healthy diet, focusing on nutrients and vitamins. The children then created detailed observational drawings of fruits and vegetables, paying close attention to colour, shading, and fine details. To finish the week, we enjoyed making our own healthy salad wraps!
In Music, the class is making fantastic progress. It has been wonderful to see everyone growing in confidence, and we are already beginning to play simple songs together. This week, the children were introduced to using the bow, which they thoroughly enjoyed exploring as they continue to develop their skills.
