Top Teacher Walks Snowdon - Pen Y Fan
We are so proud of Mr Hurford. Here is what Pontypridd Online wrote about his magnificient achievement;
This is Michael Hurford, a teacher at Tonysguboriau Primary School. Mr Hurford has taught at the school for 31 years - he said he has loved watching children develop over this "wonderful period". Mr Hurford's class are currently learning about mountains and rivers and his pupils challenged him to walk from the top of the highest point in north Wales - Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) to the top of the highest point in south Wales - Pen y Fan. He set out on April 3 and walked the full 120 miles before reaching his finish point on April 8. He walked through sunshine and rain along the River Severn in the Plynlimon hills, making his way through the beautiful Welsh countryside and camping under starry skies. He has raised more than £2,000 for the school in doing so, and you can make a donation here: http://bit.ly/3KOtf6t We bet he can't wait to tell the children in school all about his six day adventure. Well done Mike, the perfect example of going above and beyond for your pupils.
